Northern Irelands only Not For Profit

Textile recycling Initiative

We're a legitimate Not For Profit organisation

As you may be aware there has been recent negative publicity surrounding the collection of used clothing where some commercial companies have been collecting clothing from the public posing as charitable organisations. Community Recycling Initiative is totally opposed to this type of activity.

We continually try to raise awareness with the local communities we work with to tackle this abuse of trust. Also some groups have expressed concerns about market traders sorting through the donated clothing to sell on, again we are totally opposed to this and see it as abuse of the trust placed on us by the charities we collect from.

We understand charities

All the profits generated from the sale of used clothing go back to the local community groups and charities that support us. We have had the opportunity to help fund local playgroups, youth clubs and also schools, providing a much needed source of extra income.

We feel that charities should be rewarded for the effort they put into recycling and so maintain a high price for the clothing we collect.

We work closely with charitable organisations we collect from and do everything possible to help them.
